Angel Hill came to us with the interesting story of her African and Native American heritage. She wanted to pay homage to her ancestors by adding her family crest to the logo for her hair salon.
Like many of our clients she had a rough idea of what she wanted so we had clear parameters. Elements that she wanted to incorporate in addition to the family crest were fire, and angel wings. So we used bright orange for the font color and a gradient for the tips of the feathers. Because of the Native American background we wanted the wings to look similar to a bird and less like that of a traditional angel.
We faced a challenge in regards to the scale of the crest. We tried various combinations of the crest and the wings. In the end the client decided she like the large wings. The halo was added to help balance the visual weight.
This logo was used on the website, salon apparel, and products.
