Art Journal Prompts

I discover the value of journal prompts after exploring “Art Journal Workshop” by Traci Bunkers.

I have never used journal prompts. I’ve never had a problem writing my thoughts. I usually have so much spilling out of my head the need for a prompt has never been necessary.

I’ve been researching ways to try different techniques with my junk journals and colleges. A trip to the library lead me to a book called, “Art Journal Workshop” by Traci Bunkers. This is a good book because she offers great technical tips for working in your art journal. The last chapter has prompt exercises. I was so into the book that I figured why not try a prompt or two.

This was a fun exercise. I can see the value of using them when you are in a creative block. I was immediately excited and full of ideas. I would not even turn the page until I’d finished my project. I was happy to see that the author has also used a photo of herself in her entry like I did.

I posted a short video on my YouTube channel of the process. Click the photo below to watch the video.

You can use my affiliate link to purchase the book on Amazon if your library doesn’t have it, or if you’d like to add it to your permanent library. That’s what I plan to do.
